Why should you vote for Timothy Shotwell?
For too long, the Sheriff’s Office has been alienated from the public and overly bureaucratic in its management. Resources are wasted. Department morale is low. Institutional stagnation has set in.
1. Tim's first pledge is that his team will regularly meet with neighborhoods and community groups. Open lines of communication are essential. The Sheriff can no longer be isolated from the community.
2. Full disclosure of our department will accomplish two very important tasks. First, it will put the department on notice that the public is watching. Second, it will restore the public’s trust and confidence in the Sheriff’s Office.
3. As a Clark County taxpayer and a small business owner, Tim will conservatively and vigilantly guard the county’s resources.
4. As a Vietnam combat veteran, Tim witnessed firsthand what happens when a society fails. He has led men into combat. He understands the trauma and stress that law enforcement officers face in the line of duty.
5. Tim promises to work closely with the Road Officers, Custody Officers, and Support Staff of the Sheriff’s Office. Communication in all directions along the chain of command is vital.
6. Tim is a life member of the NRA and a strident supporter of the Second Amendment.
7. Clark County’s residents are at the top of Tim’s priorities.
